About 『Inter Image』

■ Inter Image - contemporary Japan/Australia art encounters
Inter Image is part of cultural exchange activities between the Sakaguchi Postgraduate Research Class of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and Queensland College of Art, Griffith University. Students with differing cultural backgrounds have made artworks, through the exchange of images, with the goal of mutual understanding. It is aimed that the process of expression that is shared will surpass the differences in environment and culture.

■ Project Details
Images of participants’ artworks were sent to the partner university, and viewed. Participants then selected partners according to their interest in the artworks shown.

Artists were paired, and each pair exchanged one artwork each. Their partner was responsible for taking inspiration from that artwork, and making an artwork in response. Artworks will be exhibited in relation to each other, as an outcome of the project.

Collaborative activities will also be carried out using this project blog and email

■ Inter Image -
